Bulldogs celebrating their Homecoming

Hotchkiss High School students did themselves proud on Class Color Day on Monday, Oct. 8. The color code is pink for freshmen, blue for sophomores, orange for juniors and lime green for seniors.
It's Homecoming in Hotchkiss. All this week the Hotchkiss High School student council has special activities planned.

The theme for this year's Homecoming is Madagscar, a tropical jungle theme. Each day of the week is designated for special attire.

Here's the schedule:

Monday — Class Color Day. Freshmen wore pink, sophomores blue, juniors orange and seniors lime green.

Tuesday — Cowboys and Indians Day.

Wednesday — Twin Day and voting for royalty. JV football at Grand Junction is at 4 p.m.

Thursday — Madagascar Day. Freshmen will paint the "H" on the hill. Seniors paint the "Senior Wall." In the afternoon, students will work on decorating their floats and class games, Peachfuzz volleyball 6 p.m., Powderpuff football and the bonfire follow.

Friday — Red and White Day. Floats are completed. Class Games take place in the morning.The Homecoming Parade is at 1 p.m. in downtown Hotchkiss. After the parade, Hotchkiss K-8 is hosting a tail gate party for the football team. Volleyball versus Rangely is at 3, 4 and 5 p.m. The football game is with Roaring Fork at 7 p.m. The Homecoming Dance starts after the football game until midnight.

Homecoming attendants for 2012 are:

Freshmen — Siena Podgorny and Clayton Oxford;

Sophomore — Rebecca Pachl and River Panish;

Junior — Jessica Violett and Ross LeValley;

Senior — Alexis Westergren, Russ Evans, Ciara Beegle, Josh Hardin, Kristina Deloury, Jesse Head, Alexis Padilla and Cody Bartlett.

Homecoming royalty will be announced during half-time at Friday's football game.
