Rainbow Beards (above) was the winning team in the Hotchkiss K-8 Beef Cook Off on Friday, Dec. 16. The team members are (left to right) Quentin Varner, Kayla Milstein, Brandi Goddard, Brook Tutor and Cody West. They scored 84 points for their knowledge test and dinner preparation. The Rawring Dinosaurs won second place, followed by The Rock Stars and Righteous Fajitias. Black Mesa CattleWomen donated the ground beef. Judges were Velma Carr of Black Mesa CattleWomen, Jeannette Carey, band teacher, and Kathy Gates, science teacher.
