As we bid farewell to warm weather, many secondary school staffers will usher in the coming winter with a friendly competition of hair growth in honor of No-Shave November.
During the penultimate month, staff members from Delta Middle School will refuse razor to body contact while raising donations benefiting Food for Thought, a program sponsored by Delta Opportunity School.
Each participating staffer began clean-shaven on Thursday, Oct. 31. By the end of each week, participants must collect a minimum of $20 in donations from students, staff, and community members that will ensure that local kids are provided with balanced nutrition throughout the year. If a participating staffer is unable to meet the minimum donation, he/she is required to shave and begin again. There will be prizes for various categories including length, hair density, and appeal (or lack thereof).
"I love how eager our staff is to participate in such a worthy cause," assistant principal Jennifer Magner stated. "It's such a blessing to see people that I work with every day come together with a spirit of joy and generosity to give to those in need."
Donations can be made in each participant's name in person or by mail to the Delta Middle School front office.blog comments powered by Disqus
