Delta Police Department launches intern program

The Delta Police Department is offering a student intern program for individuals between ages 16 and 21 interested in a law enforcement career. Student interns will perform defined administrative functions, ride in patrol cars with police officers, learn detailed city geography, and gain an in-depth knowledge in the career of law enforcement.

Individuals interested in being a police department student intern may pick up an application packet at the Delta Police Department. Complete the packet and return it to the Delta Police Department. All interested candidates are required to complete the application, turn in four letters of recommendation, and submit to a background check, drug testing, and a health evaluation. Student interns may be considered volunteers and are not compensated.

Upon completion of the student intern program individuals will have spent a specified number of hours working in and with the Delta Police Department. Interns will receive a letter and certificate of completion at the end of the specified program.

For further information about the intern program, contact the Delta Police Department at 874-7676.
