Editor's note: This is the first of a series of articles submitted by Cedaredge Elementary School about the activities within the various classes at CES. This installment highlights what the kindergarten students are doing in Cedaredge.
Recently, the kindergarten classes at Cedaredge Elementary School spent the afternoons traveling around the world. Students got to travel from class to class experiencing different languages, foods, housing, and activities that would be found around the world. Their favorite activity was receiving a passport that was stamped at every continent and a suitcase to carry all of their belongings.
We have also been working on social problem solving skills. We use various strategies to help kids deal with social emotional conflicts. The kids have been listening to social stories and learning about how to solve their own problems. They are learning the tools to help them interact with their peers and adults.
Kindergarten is full of "rock star" writers, as we are currently working on writing our opinions. The kids are writing complete sentences about the things they like and why.
We are excited about the learning and growing happening in kindergarten and we are all looking forward to the rest of the year!blog comments powered by Disqus
