Strong performance
The Cedaredge Bruins turned in a strong performance at the Colorado West Invitational Marching Band Festival Saturday, Oct. 6, outpacing Olathe High School to take first place in Class 1A in both parade and field show. The band director is Michael Bowles; Taylor Signs is the field conductor. The theme of the field show is Cirque Du Soleil: La Nuba. “We scored a 52.85 which tied our 2011 semifinals score and almost tied our 2011 championship score of 55.75,” Bowles said. He expects the band’s new uniforms to arrive any day; hopefully they’ll be able to debut them during Friday night’s Homecoming football game between Cedaredge and Meeker. The band would like to thank Delta County Schools and the community of Cedaredge for their support of the arts. Continued financial support to help pay for the new uniforms would be greatly appreciated, Bowles added.
