Photo submitted Ann Lincoln swallows fire at Paonia Junior High.Last week throughout Delta County elementary and middle schools, Ann Lincoln, who has performed magic, comedic feats and juggling since 1982, entertained students and encouraged participation in summer reading programs at libraries throughout the county. The school district's support of the assemblies and the libraries helped bring in Ann Lincoln to entertain and promote reading to the children.

Rachael Latta of Cedaredge has been awarded a Ronald McDonald House charities scholarship by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver, Inc. due to her academic record, community involvement and outstanding personal attributes.

Every year Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver, Inc. distributes more than $100,000 to area high school students.

Scholarship winners

Two scholarships have been awarded to Cedaredge High School seniors by the Rebekah Lodge. Pictured from the left are Myrna Bertram, Jessica Chevalier, recipient of the Elberta #106 School Award of $500, Rachael Latta, recipient of a $2,500 scholarship from the Rocky Mountain Lodge No. 2, IOOF, Golden, and Carolynn Andersen. Chevalier will be attending Mesa State University in Grand Junction to study art. Latta plans to go to Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Bertam and Andersen were on the selection committee for Elberta Rebekah #106.
