Breakfast of Champions

Pictured above are the latest sixth grade Breakfast of Champion honorees at Cedaredge Middle School. Representing the sixth grade class include Hannah Maclean, Victoria Creech, Manny Wilson, Wyatt Lewis, Nicole Miller, Dalia Alejandre, Cameron Baldozier, Emalee Brooks, Courtney Freeman, Hannah Gardner, Kylee Hanson, Chole’ Hart, Garth Knutson, Nevaeh Martinez, Maxwell Moore, Whitney Woolley, Wyatt Camp, Keaton Sheppard and Shelby Stone.The seventh grade Breakfast of Champion honorees include Caitlyn Bowen, Andi Todd, Pedro Madaleno, Kazou Salazar, Samantha Ribbens, Peter Carlson, Jessica Craig, Blake Gash, Hannah Hatheway, Isaac Vader, Mackenzie Dean,  Holly Jenkins and Nate Stumpf.The eighth grade honorees include Megan Toothaker, Lexi Wilson, Tre’ LaBossiere, Cole Stumpf, Sarah Tullis, Tyler Curtis, Shelby Laufer, Daniel Roberts and Tory Wilson.

Prom wonderland 2013

Paonia High School prom royalty (from left) included prince Jason Sturgis and princess Taylor Polson from the class of 2014; prom queen Chelsy Reed and prom king Garrett Park; and honorary prom king, Dave Burns. The theme of this year’s prom was “Alice in Wonderland.” Chelsy made her dress from duct tape, and won a blue ribbon for it at the Delta County Fair.

Photo by Hank Lohmeyer Jim Leser, chair of the Cedaredge Tree Board, led fifth graders in an Arbor Day Celebration at Cedaredge Elementary School. An Autumn Purple Ash tree, named Steve Ash by the students, was planted in the playground area at the school. Boys and girls from all three fifth grade classes at Cedaredge Elementary School took part in a program and tree planting to celebrate Arbor Day. Even though the local event was scheduled for the first day of May, rather than in April hoping for better weather, the morning was a bit chilly on the field and playground.

Pictured with Rogers are (l-r): foundation board members Kathryn McCarthy, Pam Bliss, Dr. John Willet, Ted Hoff, and Pam Cocker. Rogers was selected from more than 60 nominees to receive the award. The award came with a check for $10,000.Crawford Elementary School first-grade teacher Jan Rogers has a framed drawing hanging in her classroom of her first-grade teacher. Rogers said she absolutely loved her, and held onto the picture long after first grade ended.
