DHS grad will spend four months in Ecuador

Raveen Mulford, daughter of Julie and Vally Mulford of Delta, will travel to Cuenca, Ecuador, Dec. 27 to spend four months volunteering in orphanages. Mulford graduated in 2011 from Delta High School and currently attends Brigham Young University-Idaho.

CU-Boulder scholarship program recognizes outstanding residents

The University of Colorado Boulder has announced a new merit-based scholarship program to recognize top entering Colorado freshmen for outstanding academic achievement.

Under the CU-Boulder Esteemed Scholars Program, a select group of entering Colorado resident freshmen will receive scholarships ranging from a total of $10,000 to $20,000 over four years based on a combination of their high school grade point average and test scores.

Knowledge Bowl champs

a05 knowledgebowlPhoto submitted Knowledge Bowl champs Lydia Stalcup, Emily Nortnik, Lucy Streich, Gabe Rodriguez and Naythan Phillips made up the Delta 1 team which placed first at a countywide Knowledge Bowl competition in early November. In the seventh/eighth grade division, second place went to Delta Academy of Applied Learning and Hotchkiss 1 finished third. The top sixth grade teams were Paonia Elementary School, first place; Montessori, second place; and Delta 1, third place.
