Hotchkiss K-8 held it's academic awards assembly on Thursday, April 11. The awards were for students attaining Red, Blue and Gold Club status during the first semester of the 2012-2013 school year.

On April 5, the following Paonia Elementary School students were recognized for demonstrating S.O.A.R. behavior: Logan Scroggs for Order and Achievement; Paige Roberts, Noah McDaniels, Abby Reedy, Katelyn Coffey, Sabrina Leighton, Jaqueline Mora, Ella Jensen, Kelsey Simpson and Contessa Sprinkle for Achievement; Jesse Burns for Achievement and Respect; Tearna North and Trista Sweezey for Respect. Way to S.O.A.R. students!

50% of county’s 2011 grads needed remediation

Nearly 50 percent of the 2011 high school graduates from Delta County required some type of remedial instruction when they enrolled in college. That data was included in the Colorado Department of Higher Education's 2012 Remedial Education Report, which was released this week.
