Elks honor students

The Hotchkiss Elks Lodge #1807 honors students from Paonia and Hotchkiss High School each month for their achievements. Pictured are the honor students for Feburary and March. Terrific Kids

The following Garnet Mesa students earned a Terrific Kid Award from the Kiwanis Club of Delta for their efforts to be responsible citizens and students. Problem solvers

Delta Middle School had two Destination Imagination teams this year. Gone Squatchin’ (pictured above) included Lucy Streich, Logan Freed, Meysa Mulford, Matthew Easter, Hannah Branson, Lizzy Ward and Makyla Miramontes. Sierra Nelson, Caleb Miramontes, Thomas Niel, Kaleb Hawkins, Nathan Sanders and Sheali King were members of Let’s Twist. The Destination Imagination program encourages teams of learners to have fun, take risks, focus and frame challenges while incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), the arts and service learning. Teams showcased their solutions at a regional tournament in Palisade March 23.
