The SourceGas expansion work in Surface Creek Valley has involved use of temporary line loops to test the system. The structures seen by motorists along Highway 65 were temporary. The one at Austin Road and 2100 Road is a permanent structure called a block valve that will remain in place for conducting line maintenance and testing, according to a company spokesperson. The SourceGas expansion project north of Cedaredge is over halfway completed and is on track for completion by this June, according to the company.
The $3.7 million project that will bring natural gas service to previously unserved areas around Cedaredge began last May.
