Cedaredge Police Chief Dan Sanders (center) receives a $1,000 donation from Source Gas last week from Natalie Shelbourn and Peter Cooke of Source Gas. The contribution puts the fund drive well over the $8,500 needed for a replacement for K9 officer Buddy, and will help fund training of the dog’s handler. On Tuesday, February 18, Natalie Shelbourn, manager of community and government affairs of Source Gas and Peter Cooke, Source Gas division manager, presented Cedaredge Police Chief Dan Sanders with a check for $1,000 to benefit the Cedaredge Police Department's ongoing effort to purchase a new police dog to replace out-going police officer, K-9 Buddy.
Buddy has been the only K-9 officer in Delta County for the past seven years, and has proven himself to be a valued member of the Cedaredge Police Department, an asset to the town as well as an invaluable resource to the surrounding communities.
