More Help For President Obama's Reelection

Dear President Obama,
It’s been another busy week with you traveling half-way around the world on your campaign for next year’s election. As you probably know, I have been sending you a letter each week for the past three weeks via your website offering you some advice and I want you to know I appreciate the automated email response I receive each time. It appears to me that with all of the time you have spent campaigning recently you must be getting tired and because of that you might be creating an issue for yourself.
In 2008, during your last campaign, you said that you had visited 57 of the United States and had one more, Alaska, to go. At that time I assumed you were just tired and misspoke regarding how many states we have. This past Sunday when you said that Hawaii was in Asia I once again assume that you are just tired and that you actually do know that Hawaii is part of the United States of America. I was glad to get all the media coverage of the questioning of the authenticity of your birth certificate behind us and I sure hope that your statement about Hawaii not being a part of our country doesn't start another media distraction for you. After all, if Hawaii were in Asia you would not be eligible to be president.
My advice for you this week is centered around this "Super Committee" which has been set up to find a way to cut $1.5 trillion from our debt. They don't seem to be getting their job done and I think you should get back home immediately and lead them to a decision. Yesterday I heard our national debt surpassed $15 trillion and then I reviewed the Treasury Department report for fiscal year 2011 ending September 30, 2011 and I think we are in trouble. When I talked with a couple of my friends about the Treasury Department report and told them that we paid $454 Billion on our debt last year, like me, they were surprised. I saw that the total we spent for the Department of Defense for 2011 is around $725 billion and that the debt we are paying is almost 2/3 as much as the entire cost of the Defense Department. Do you realize that if we did not need to pay that debt, it would be like cutting the defense budget by two-thirds.
I gratefully pay my taxes for our military to keep me safe. I really don't like the money I work hard to earn being used to pay off debt and I am very upset about my children and future grandchildren being required to pay for some of the debt we are accumulating today. I did some calculating and realize that the debt payment we made last year was about $1,450 for each man, woman and child in the United States. For each taxpayer that is about $6,900.
Mr. President, think about this. If a person paid $6,900 in income taxes last year, the full amount of their tax dollars only went to make a payment on the debt. If you would go back to Washington, lead the Super Committee and help implement policies to lower our debt, I bet you will get more support for your efforts toward your election campaign.
Next week I may not be sending you more campaign advice since I have some other issues I think are more important right now. However, I'll keep an eye on your election campaign. As always, if you want me to give you any of my thoughts, have your staff contact me at the email address below.
