Susan Hansen — not gone, never forgotten

Dear Editor:

Cheers to the DCI for writing a touching tribute to Susan Hansen and putting it on the front page of the DCI last week. Susan certainly deserves every accolade that could be imagined.

It was my privilege to work with her on the recreation and culture task force when we completed an assessment for the county with the help of the University of Colorado in 2006. Our Cedaredge Mayor Pat Means recently commented to me, Susan "has the patience of Job!" I agree! She has the talent to prioritize — so lacking elsewhere but not with Susan! Personally, I look forward to what she will do next in her retirement; she is certainly on my list to join in new and wonderful projects. I will give her the winter to embrace her retirement.

What a woman you are, Susan — you make us proud! You provide a history of mentorship for us all to learn from. Thank you, thank you Susan, from all of us; oh yes, I will be in touch.
