Theft of signs may have unintended consequences

Dear Editor:

A word to those who took our Romney for President signs from various residences on Garnet Mesa in Delta a couple of weeks ago: I know that Romney for President of the United States signs are scarce seeing how so many good folks are wanting them to put in their yards. If you really wanted one to put in your yard, all you had to do was ask.

I am sure that those of us who had more than one sign would have been glad to share. After all isn't that what our illustrious leader wants us to do — redistribute our wealth so everyone gets a "fair shot." (Just an unrelated thought — I never got a job from a poor man.)

Wait a minute! It just dawned on me that maybe you STOLE those Romney for President signs so the undecided voters wouldn't be able to see how popular Mitt Romney is in our area. If that is your motivation, I totally understand. I am not at all surprised at the Obama-Chicago style political tactics you have used to try to silence your opposition. You, just like your leader, can't defend his record of failure and can't compete in the area of ideas so you, like your leader, resort to underhanded and unlawful methods to accomplish your goal.

However, there may be some unintended consequences to your thievery that you didn't expect. I wonder if there are some undecided voters out there that will not vote for Mitt Romney just because your cowardly actions have soured them on your candidate.

I would hope that the good citizens of still the best country on God's green earth will have awakened from Obama-mania and realize that his socialistic ideas have been an abject failure. Socialism, wherever and whenever it has been tried, never works because as Margaret Thatcher, former prime minister of England, so aptly stated, "The government runs out of other people's money."

In closing, President Obama has continually blamed the previous administration (Bush's) and the fact that he (Obama) didn't realize how bad the situation in our country was for his inability to get us back on track. Will he (Obama) blame the previous administration (Obama's) and the fact that he (Obama) didn't realize how bad the situation in our country is if we give him another four years?
