Hotchkiss has a safer ball field

Dear Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Hotchkiss Booster Club, Hotchkiss High School and all the volunteers who helped with laying the new sod at the middle school baseball field. New infield dirt was also added and the games can now be played on a more safe field.

A very special kudos to Darnell Oxford for giving us a day with his equipment to haul in and help spread the new dirt. He did an exceptional job. Also, to the baseball players who helped and stayed with it even in the snow and rain.

This was a long time coming and a very big need to help make the field more safe. The effort by everyone has been tremendous. One last thank you to the private donors who also helped out.
