The membership and board of the Hotchkiss Community Chamber of Commerce met Sept. 4 to consider the ballot question of increasing the mill levy in support of the Delta County Libraries. Those in attendance voted unanimously that the chamber publicly support the ballot question.
The chamber believes that libraries offer a valuable service to our community's residents and businesses, through public access to information via print and electronic media, and by providing public broadband Internet access to the entire community. Libraries also serve as an important public meeting place and facilitate the exchange of ideas — which is important in any community.
Please accept this letter of support for the ballot initiative coming before the voters of Delta County.
Nathan R. Sponseller President
