Has the local Republican party become a herd of RINOs? We have always been a party that believed in term limits among other principles that conservatives like President Ronald Reagan believed in.
Last November I was shocked that the sheriff and coroner were able to convince Delta County Republicans to do away with term limits for those two offices. Twelve years is long enough for anyone to be in office and these offices are no exception. As for the sheriff's position, the undersheriff, Mark Taylor, is more than qualified to take that oath of office.
As a conservative Republican I ask the voters of Delta County to vote no on removing term limits on the other Delta County elected positions. I also urge the Republican party to present an alternative for sheriff and coroner on next year's ballot. And no, this has nothing to do with the sheriff firing me over my bumper sticker. That is being handled at a higher level. It's about the Republican party doing what we used to believe in. No RINOs, please.
