Delta has a terrific fire department

Dear Editor:

I would like to thank the Delta Fire Department for the wonderful job they did in putting out the fire that got out of control on my property when my neighbor was burning off his fields and irrigation ditches. The fire destroyed a storage shed and peacock pen and part of my neighbor's retaining wall.

I would just like to say, please, anyone burning have enough help to keep the fire under control. It's devastating to anyone involved! I am thankful no one was burned or injured.

Also thanks to my good neighbors Art and Gwen Cannon, Leona Lane, Paul and Virginia Allen who called the fire department.
