This is to thank the person who wrote the letter in last week's DCI in support of school board member Kathy Svenson — I have known her for years.
Wake up people!
And that includes the rest of the school board! Do any of us who have daughters really want "transvestites" to be allowed to enter women's public restrooms?
Can you really not see all of the things that could happen? Oh what we all sacrifice these days in the name of "political correctness"! It makes me sick! Our kids' safety is on the line so I truly hope the rest of the school board members will grow a backbone.
Frankly, I feel the only school board member worth her salt is Kathy Svenson. Every year I have known her, she has hosted a foreign exchange student. And she has sacrificially given of her time and talents to many of the same volunteer youth organizations that my family and I are involved in. She is the real deal when it comes to caring about all young people — I have seen her integrity in action.
When it comes to leadership in the county, we need people at all levels who are willing to take stands for decent, common sense principles — like the kind our great nation was founded on.
For now, I and many others will be watching carefully. If any wayward decisions are made by this school board — especially ones that may put our kids at risk — you are on notice that you will be voted out.
(Editor's note: The letter, "Gender political correctness in Delta County" was submitted by Mike Mason of Cedaredge. During formatting of the page, his name was inadvertently dropped. Despite appearances to the contrary, the DCI does not publish anonymous letters to the editor.)blog comments powered by Disqus
