An update on burn victims

Just wanted to send you a clarification/update. on the article "Hotchkiss man burned." My husband Jim was life flighted to St Mary's and from there to the trauma burn unit at University Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he still resides.

He has a full thickness third degree burn to 75 percent of his right lower extremity. He also suffered burns to his face, right hand and left knee. Jim will be a long time healing, but we got the word on Friday that he will keep his leg. Very grateful.

I did not refuse medical treatment. I drove myself to the hospital in Delta where I was treated and released for burns to both my hands and face, from rolling and patting Jim until the burns were out. The burn unit in SLC also treated me while I was there without any cost or charge to us. Thank you for your article.
