Dear Editor:
To all the past and present staff at the Bill Heddles Recreation Center, we would like to recognize all the hard work and excellent customer service you all have provided to us and the community for the past 20 years. It's time to say HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and A BIG THANK YOU for all your efforts and friendship over these years.
Dear Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Hotchkiss Booster Club, Hotchkiss High School and all the volunteers who helped with laying the new sod at the middle school baseball field. New infield dirt was also added and the games can now be played on a more safe field.
Dear Editor:
What is going on here in Cedaredge? Yet another loss of fine physicians and medical staff.
Dear Editor:
This will be my first letter to you or any paper.
There are so many people who have nothing to do but cause a lot of controversy.
Dear Editor:
My daughter just e-mailed me the link to an excellent article written by Woody Paige at the Denver Post: "Piphers are Colorado's first family in wrestling."
Woody will have to be excused for missing some of the key historical elements of the story, since he had probably just been born by 1959, the year the prestigious Paonia High School class of 1959 graduated.
Dear Editor:
March 10-16 is Sunshine Week, an annual nationwide effort to call attention to transparency in government and freedom of information. It is a reminder to us about how important it is to make our voices heard all year long, not just on Election Day.
Dear Editor:
I am writing in response to Virginia Allen's letter about the DMEA board changing the bylaw on conflict of interest. The board researched and then made the appropriate change to the bylaw.
Dear Editor:
In response to David Lien's letter (DCI, Feb. 27), I would like to submit the National Park Service's findings on the effect on wildlife from motorized vehicle use in Yellowstone National Park. The report is centered on winter motorized recreation.
Dear Editor:
This letter is in response to David A. Lien's letter to the editor titled "More motorized routes should be closed" in the Feb. 27 edition of the DCI.
Mr. Lien mentioned his opposition to the opinion of the Rocky Mountain Mule Deer Association regarding the importance of opportunity for hunters and anglers to be able to have access to hunting and angling on our public lands.
Dear Editor:
Often heroes step into our lives and are rarely, if ever, noticed. These are the real heroes, not the made up media-hyped kind.
