The Cedaredge Area Chamber of Commerce is making its plans for an active year of events and community participation.
President Rachel Leonard is also putting the 12-member chamber board of directors organization into trim for completing projects and expanding the CACC's outreach to business and community.
Leonard has proposed setting up board committees to handle various tasks and community liaison. Committee work between monthly regular board meetings will help keep the chamber in touch with other groups' plans and activities and may help streamline discussion at board meetings allowing more to be accomplished.
Leonard proposed setting up four new standing board committees:
First draft committee; hold work sessions between regular board meetings. Reports at board meetings will help streamline discussions.
Business Outreach Committee; attend meetings of other community groups and report to chamber board on those activities, new ideas, initiatives, etc.
Business Event Committee: facilitate business after hours, ribbon cuttings, other special events and activities.
Special Event Committee: liaison with town government and other organizations as chamber support of other activities in the community.
AppleFest Committee: already a standing committee of the board. Members for 2014 are Leonard, Dottie Whitlock, Lesley Lewis, Larry Murphy, Dawn Conrad and Sue Meyer.blog comments powered by Disqus
