Six people have completed their nominating petitions to run for three open seats on the Cedaredge Town Board.
They are Erik Backman, a retired engineer and businessman now in property management;
Jerry Huggett, a Cedaredge businessman in the automotive trades; Mike Meskel, owner with his wife of Shady Creek RV Park and a former town trustee; Patty Michael, owner with her husband of Mesa Liquors; Al Smith, retired from the railroad industry and current chair of the town planning commission; and Laurence (Larry) Smith, an incumbent seeking re-election.
February 28 is the last day for candidates to declare their intention to run as a write-in.
Official election day is April 1. The election is being conducted by the county clerk's office through mail ballot.
Ballots are to be mailed to voters during the week of March 10 and no later than March 14.
