This week's headlines

Orchard City's student of the month is a Cedaredge High School senior who plans to pursue a dual career path in engineering and the military.

Rowdy Murphy received the monthly honor from the town board on May 9.

In making the award, Mayor Don Suppes said that Rowdy has a 3.5 g.p.a. He has been a member of ASTRA and the Spanish club. He has participated in golf and track.

Rowdy's plans include an engineering degree from the University of Colorado along with a Navy R.O.T.C. commission.
