Two grants from state agencies received by the Town of Cedaredge will go towards the new sewer treatment plant project.
A $20,000 grant will be used for site study and acquisition work, and another grant of $79,000 will be used for design work on the project.
Public works director Dave Smith reported that he anticipates five sites for the sewer treatment plant with access to Surface Creek which will be evaluated during the site selection process.
The grant awards were announced during the Cedaredge Town Board's Sept. 20 meeting.
In other business at their September meeting the trustees dealt with the following matters:
• Trustees adjourned into an executive session to give instructions to the town administrator on negotiations for the possible purchase of property "for future construction of town facilities."
• A liquor license renewal for Mesa Liquors was approved.
• Trustees approved a request by Jan Prosser, owner of Short Branch Liquors, for a change in her liquor license that will allow storage of beer in an auxiliary building at the Short Branch location on North Grand Mesa Drive.blog comments powered by Disqus
