Volunteers provide a wide variety of services to residents at Horizons Health Care Center. Staff at the facility held a recognition event on April 26, during National Volunteer Week.
Individual and group certificates of appreciation and pins were awarded to the honored guests attending the event.
Among them were members from the Rose Garden Club, Friends & Flowers, Four Seasons Garden Club, VFW, American Legion, LDS Women's Relief Society, Sunny Side Christian Band, Hotchkiss Public Library, Austin Baptist Church, Hernandez family, Don Cotton and his wife, Roy Pitts, Mary Meehan, Lillian Pickard, and the Kids Clown Ministry from Western Colorado Holiness Chapel in Delta. There are other groups and individuals who volunteer on a regular basis who were unable to attend the event.
Kathy Meehan thanked all those who visit and provide a variety of services and activities throughout the year. She said, "Whatever venue you bring, we are grateful. We are blessed to have a community of givers, a community that gives our residents the dignity and respect they deserve."
Refreshments were served, and children from the Jesus Loves Me Kids Clown Ministry entertained with several action songs.blog comments powered by Disqus
