"Once Upon Surface Creek, a Pioneer History," is currently being featured in the book section at the Welcome Center in Pioneer Town.
The author, Doyle Kline, now 91 years old and living in New Mexico, writes of the early settlers of the Surface Creek Valley.
His great-grandfather, Captain William Moore Spaulding, homesteaded here as soon as the Ute Indians were removed from the area (1882).
The history tells of Spaulding's descendents, the Ferguson, Kline and Phippeny families, their trials, visions and successes. Doyle Kline's love of the land and family members is apparent as he also spins tales of his life and adventures growing up in the Surface Creek Valley.
A limited number of these books are available; some of them are signed by the author.blog comments powered by Disqus
