Cedaredge trustees were presented with small tokens of thanks for their service to the community from constituent Virginia Taylor during the town board's May 16 meeting.
Taylor described herself as an advocate for seniors and as a private individual active in many different community roles who interfaces with 15 different organizations in her various roles.
She approached the microphone during constituent time at the board meeting and told the trustees, "We haven't done right by you folks. It's time for some payback for your patience, kindness, and for the goodness of the things you do."
Taylor had brought a basket containing memento samples of local minerals which she carried around to each of the trustees for them to select the one of their choice.
Board members were pleased and surprised by Taylor's gesture.
Mayor Pro-tem Gene Welch observed, "I have been serving as a trustee for six years and I've never had a constituent say thank you."blog comments powered by Disqus
