Zentangle Art will be demonstrated at the Welcome Center at Pioneer Town in Cedaredge on Tuesday, July 16, from 10 a.m. to noon.
This method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing way to create beautiful images by drawing abstract, structured, repetitive patterns.
It increases focus and creativity, providing artistic satisfaction along with a sense of well being. Almost anyone can use Zentangle to create beautiful images. It's a wonderful way to relax, find focus and be inspired.
The demonstration will take place inside the Welcome Center in the TV area where it is cool. Iced tea, lemonade and cookies will be served.
Artwork by local artists Carol Ann Rasmussen and Miriam Hartig are being featured in the Welcome Center's gift shop.
Rasmussen is fascinated with color. She works with alcohol inks in combination and achieves effects not duplicated in other mediums. Her experiments with the inks have produced amazing results.
Her giclée prints are ready for framing and each of her unique note cards is lovely enough to be given as a gift.
Colorful Colorado wildflowers and Grand Mesa scenic views are memorable topics for Hartig's watercolors. Some of her work is framed ready for hanging; others are matted ready for framing.
She has generously supported a variety of projects with the sale of her handicrafts and artwork. Her mural of the history and development of the Austin/Eckert area is proximately displayed at the Orchard City Town Hall.
