Deacon Price Hatcher was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on Aug. 2. He was assigned to minister to St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Delta and its Mission, St. Phillip Benizi in Cedaredge as well as the incarcerated at the Delta Correction Center.
This was after four years of required training in Pueblo, in human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral care.
His wife Jeanne also participated in all of the training.
Ongoing, continuing education is required as well as four specific courses over the next two years. Hatcher is excited about bringing his real world experience into his new calling to pastorial care.
As a volunteer, he was responsible for religious training; baptism preparation; serving with Fr. Albeiro at mass; serving communion in his absence; and minister training for ushers and readers. Along with these duties, Price is serving on the board of the Denver Homeless Ministries and is treasurer. DHM ministers to the homeless youth on the streets of Denver.
Price and Jeanne Hatcher have had a long connection with the Cedaredge area. They have owned property here for more than 15 years and spent much time in the area. At the end of last year both retired and permanently moved from Arvada to their home north of Cedaredge.blog comments powered by Disqus
