The Friends of Cedaredge Animal Control (FCAC) is seeking individuals interested in serving on its board of directors. FCAC is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization which operates the Surface Creek Animal Shelter in Cedaredge and the Shelter Shoppe, a thrift boutique which supports the shelter.
The Surface Creek Shelter is an adoption-guaranteed facility for dogs and cats from Cedaredge and the surrounding area.
The shelter supports the Cedaredge animal control officer.
FCAC volunteers operate the Shelter Shoppe, walk the dogs at the shelter daily, support the shelter in many other ways such as foster homes, transport to veterinary care, cat cuddling, and fund raising.
The board has 11 members and meets monthly. Board members for 2014 will be nominated at the Oct. 8 meeting with elections occurring at the annual meeting on Nov. 12. Board meetings are held at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the Cedaredge Library. Meetings are open to the public.
