Distribution days at the Surface Creek Community Services Food Bank are busier than ever, managers report. Last year at this time there were about 150 families being served each month. Now that number is well over 200, the DCI is informed. A food drive for donated staple items was held last weekend. Closing of the Wildfire Pizzeria has provided a small windfall of nonperishable inventory including canned goods, cheese, and fresh produce that was donated by the town.
