The Cedaredge Women's Literary Club presented a $1,000 check on Jan. 15 to the Cedaredge library. The library staff determined that a good use for these funds would be the purchase of a Cricut Electronic Cutter, a portable machine that cuts letters, shapes, and phrases.
This purchase would also include numerous cartridges for different types of craft work. Remaining funds will be put toward adding more large-print books to the library's collection.
The donation was made possible through the sale of "Literary Soup" packets put together by the Literary Club in conjunction with the yearly service project it sponsors for the Cedaredge High School senior girls. The Literary Club puts on a lavish tea and luncheon for the seniors, after which the senior girls assemble all of the packages which are then sold throughout the community. Response to the Literary Soup has been tremendous over the past two years and the Women's Literary Club plans to continue it for next year.
On hand to receive the check were library staff and some of the Literary Club's members.blog comments powered by Disqus
