Hotchkiss girls split 2A WSL road games

The Lady Bulldogs are now 10-5 overall, 5-1 in the 2A Western Slope League after an excruciatingly close 45-47 conference loss in overtime Friday at North Park High School in Walden.

The game was tied at seven at the end of the first period, and both teams scored 18 second-period points to enter the half in a 25-25 tie.

The game ended in regulation play with a 43-43 tie after Hotchkiss put up eight points in the third and nine in the fourth, while North Park (6-6, 3-2, 1A WSL) scored seven in the third and 10 in the fourth.

The Lady Bulldogs were outscored 5-3 in overtime for the loss.

On Saturday, Hotchkiss led 28-13 at the half against West Grand (4-7, 0-4), and put up 25 points in the final period to defeat the Lady Mustangs, 65-38.

The Lady Bulldogs will have the weekend off and will travel to Plateau Valley on Feb. 9. After that, Hotchkiss' next home game will be on Feb. 16 against Rangely.
