Andrew Tiedeman wasted no time in taking the lead at Saturday's Hotchkiss Invitational Cross Country Meet. The Hotchkiss junior edged farther and farther away from the pack and was all alone when he crossed the finish line in a record-setting 17 minutes, 59.17 seconds.
Senior receiver Chris Allen was among several Bulldogs to have a great game in Hotchkiss's 34-33 overtime win Friday against Monte Vista.
"He had an ankle injury in practice and he didn't think he'd be 100 percent," said head coach Zac Lemon following the win.
Andrew Tiedeman continued his successful junior season Saturday, placing fifth at the Eagle Valley Cross Country Invitational, with a time of 17 minutes, 16.94 seconds.
The 5,000-meter course on the Gypsum Golf Course is mostly grass, and was pretty wet Saturday morning, said Bulldogs head coach Kelly Cowan.
It didn't produce the devastation like that on the Front Range, but Saturday morning's rain was a bit much for playing tennis. But it was enough to cancel the final day of competition at last week's Delta County Invitational tennis tournament.
