‘Dogs’ claim two titles, 7 going to state

Boyle is one of seven state qualifiers, and one of four returning state competitors for the Bulldogs.The Hotchkiss Bulldogs claimed two regional champions and will send seven wrestlers to the 2A state wrestling tournament. The Class 3A Region 1 tournament was held Feb. 15 and 16 at Grand Valley High School.

Dogs win one, lose one on road trip north

Hotchkiss posted a conference win Friday, defeating North Park, 46-30. On Saturday, West Grand scored 21 points in the second quarter in a slim 47-43 win over the Bulldogs.

Hotchkiss girls split 2A WSL road games

The Lady Bulldogs are now 10-5 overall, 5-1 in the 2A Western Slope League after an excruciatingly close 45-47 conference loss in overtime Friday at North Park High School in Walden.

The game was tied at seven at the end of the first period, and both teams scored 18 second-period points to enter the half in a 25-25 tie.

The game ended in regulation play with a 43-43 tie after Hotchkiss put up eight points in the third and nine in the fourth, while North Park (6-6, 3-2, 1A WSL) scored seven in the third and 10 in the fourth.

The Lady Bulldogs were outscored 5-3 in overtime for the loss.

Hotchkiss wins 6 of 7 in upper weights, falls short against OHS

The dual, held Friday at Hotchkiss, ended in a 41-36 win for Olathe. Hotchkiss will compete in the WSL Duals at Cedaredge on Feb. 8.A pin at 220 pounds by Olathe sealed Friday's 41-36 win over the Hotchkiss Bulldogs.

Tanner Bizer was the first Bulldog on the mat.

Lady Bulldogs win two, 4-0 in WSL action

c06 hhsgbbPhoto by Tamie Meck Guard Alexsus Wilson attempts a shot over a Soroco defender in the Lady Bulldogs’ 64-36 conference win over the Lady Rams.Hotchkiss is now 9-4 overall and undefeated in conference play after weekend wins over Soroco and Hayden. Despite more than 20 turnovers, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Soroco (7-3 overall, 0-2 Western Slope League), 64-36, Friday at home. The defense held the Lady Rams to three points in the opening period of play.

Three Hotchkiss players scored in double digits. Point guard Natalie Anderson finished the game with 10 field goals and 25 points.

‘Dogs lose to league leader Hayden, bounce back to defeat Soroco
