Four runs in the seventh inning lifted Rangely to a 7-6 upset win Friday over the visiting Hotchkiss Bulldogs. Hotchkiss opened the game with three runs in the first inning, then took a 6-4 lead with three more runs in the sixth.
Jennifer Celis has set a record at every meet she's competed at this season. At Friday's Montrose Invitational, the junior sprinter/mid-distance runner ran the 800-meter in two minutes, 14.24 seconds for the win and a new meet record.
Hotchkiss (11-4, 7-3) is in second place in the WSL following 15-5, 9-2 wins Saturday against Meeker (1-7, 1-7).
The double-header games were moved to Canyon View Park in Grand Junction due to last week's heavy snows in northern Colorado.
The Hotchkiss girls' track team had four first-place showings and scored 77 points to place fourth at the 13-team Phil Wertman Invitational, held Friday at Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction. The girls also broke meet records in two events.
