Last week's split in 3A WSL basketball play leaves Cedaredge High School's boys basketball team with a 5-8 league record and a 7-9 overall mark.
The Bruins hung a 53-32 loss on the visiting Basalt Longhorns on Friday but slipped to Coal Ridge by a 62-51 count on Saturday.
Cedaredge finished with a sweep over Basalt, having beaten it 37-34 back in January. Coal Ridge owns the sweep over Cedaredge by virtue of its 46-39 win in January.
Bruins 53 BHS 32
The Bruins opened the game by scoring seven more points than Basalt in the first quarter. An 11-5 advantage in the second quarter gave the Bruins a 25-12 lead at halftime.
Cedaredge continued putting more points on the board than its opponent in the second half. Cedaredge outscored the Longhorns 28-20 in the second half to post the 21-point victory.
Kris Krueger had 16 points to lead Basalt's offensive efforts.
CR 62, Bruins 51
The Titans outscored Cedaredge in all but one quarter in last week's loss in New Castle.
A 17-12 first quarter gave the Titans an edge they would never relinquish.
The two teams scored 13 points apiece in the second frame, giving Coal Ridge a 30-25 lead at halftime.
A 32-26 Titan second-half accounted for the 11-point final score.
Cedaredge hosted Grand Valley (8-4, 9-6) on Tuesday. The results of that contest will appear in next week's paper. The Cardinals defeated Cedaredge 64-51 on Jan. 11.
The Bruins' Friday game is in Craig against Moffat County.
