The Bruins won the first game 12-2 and followed with a 13-11 decision in game two.
Bruins 12, RF 2
Cedaredge jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one inning of play and never looked back in Saturday's first game of doubleheader action in Cedaredge.
Trent Walker struck out 10 batters and walked only one on his way to the 3A WSL win. Walker allowed just three hits in his first mound appearance of the season.
Roaring Fork got on the board with a singleton in the second inning and tacked on one more run in the fourth before its bats fell silent.
Cedaredge scored three times in the third and added five insurance runs in the sixth on its way to a shortened game due to the 10-run rule.
Kyle Ward was Cedaredge's leading hitter with three hits in four at bats, including a pair of triples. Ward also had three RBIs.
Austin Gartman also had a three-hit day in four plate appearances, including a double. Gartman knocked in two runs for the Bruins.
Bruins 13, RF 11
The second game of doubleheader action started out with the Bruins scoring once in the first inning and adding five runs in the second to post a 6-0 lead.
Tyler Beach started the game for Cedaredge but gave way to Eli Underwood and Walker in the later stages. Walker came away with his second win of the day.
The Rams put their first runs on the board in third-inning play with a two-run rally. Cedaredge came right back in the bottom half of the third to tack on four more runs for a 10-2 lead.
Roaring Fork got serious in the fifth inning with a five-run explosion that trimmed the Bruins' lead to 10-7. Two more runs in the top half of the sixth made it 10-9 with the Bruins coming to bat. Cedaredge was able to extend its lead with three runs and held a 13-9 lead heading to the seventh inning.
Roaring Fork made a run at the Bruins with two runs in the seventh but came up short, 13-11, when the final out was called.
Ward was once again the Bruins' leading hitter with three hits in four at bats, including his third triple of the day, and an RBI. Gartman had two hits in his four at bats and knocked in three runs.
Walker had a double that accounted for two RBIs for the winners.
The Bruins played at Coal Ridge on Tuesday (results of that game will appear in next week's paper) and are scheduled for a doubleheader in Cedaredge on Saturday. The first game is scheduled for 11 a.m. and the second is tentatively set for 1 p.m.
