There were several new records set in both the girls' and boys' divisions at last Friday's Bruin Invitational track meet.
One of those new women's standards was set by Cedaredge senior Rachael Latta.
Latta's record came in long jump where she replaced teammate Rebecca Deal's 2011 mark of 15-11.5 with a jump of 16-1. Deal finished second with a jump of 15-9 on Friday.
Austin Williams was responsible for one of the new men's marks with a throw of 137-11 in discus competition.
Williams replaced Cedaredge graduate Miguel Barajas' throw of 137-11, set in 2011, with a throw of 139-4.
The Lady Bruins earned one other first- place finish on their way to 101 points and a second-place finish last Friday. The 3200m relay team was the class of the field with its 10:09.08 time.
There were a plethora of seconds for Cedaredge beginning with freshmen Kenzie Henderson's 4-9 jump in high jump competition and Mackenzie Kehmeier's 1:01.39 run in the 400m.
The 800m sprint medley and 400m relay teams finished second with times of 1:54.61 and 51.13 respectively.
A pair of third-place finishes were earned by Ashley Diaz in the 1600m (5:51.96) and the 800m relay team (1:47.56). Even though they finished third, the 800m relay team was one of three teams to break the old mark of 1:47.81, set by Cedaredge back in 2010.
Kendall McHugh (high jump, 4-9) and the Lady Bruins' 1600m relay team (4:10.84) placed fourth at Friday's competition.
Fifth-place finishes went to Summer Herman (100m), Henderson (300m hurdles) and Kaitlyn Kissner (discus).
Winning sixth-place points was Raylee VanderLinde in 100m hurdles competition.
Seventh-place finishes went to Micaela Shaw in both the shot put and discus events.
The Cedaredge boys scored 122 points to finish second on Friday. Coal Ridge piled up 162.5 points to win the team title.
Besides Williams' new mark in the discus, there were two other first-place finishes registered to the Bruin boys. Williams doubled up on wins with his throw of 47-4 in shot put and Reid Gates won the high jump with a leap of 6-5.
Dante Markley produced 24 points with three second-place finishes in the 100m (11.62), 110m high hurdles (15.62, and 300m hurdles (39.84).
