Cedaredge's Lady Bruins made it to the first round of playoffs in volleyball. Their Region 4 tournament agenda had them playing in Kersey.
The Lady Bruins, seeded 33rd, faced number four Platte Valley first and then number 21 Peak to Peak in a second match.
Platte Valley swept the Bruins in three sets, 25-19, 25-9, and 25-14.
It took five sets to subdue Cedaredge against Peak to Peak. The Pumas started with a 25-17 win in set one but lost the next two, 25-21 and 25-23, to trail 2-1.
A strong finish to the match allowed Peak to Peak to pick up a 25-16 win in set four and then score a 15-9 decision in the tie-breaker.
Cedaredge finished the year with a 10-15 overall record.
Kenzie Henderson was listed 15th in the hitting department for Class 3A hitting leaders with 120 kills on 258 attempts for the season.
Rebecca Deal (sr.) was listed 10th on the 3A blocks leader board with 18 solo blocks and 54 assists for a total of 72. Teammate Henderson was 20th with 70 total (19 solo and 51 assists).
Sophomore Amber Jenkins was 24th in digs with a total of 279 for 72 sets in 2013.blog comments powered by Disqus
