Lady Bruins defeat GHS

The Lady Pirates held on for a 39-30 decision in 3A WSL play.The Cedaredge Lady Bruins split a pair of 3A WSL games this past week and stand at 1-1 in league play and 2-1 overall. Cedaredge traveled to Gunnison on Tuesday (Dec. 11) where it scored a 42-33 win over the Lady Cowboys.

Cedaredge matmen improve

b10 chswrPhoto by Tamie Meck Cedaredge freshman 106-pounder Austin Todd wrestles fifth-ranked Cody Lacy of Grand Junction at the 35th annual Warrior Classic. Todd, who placed fifth at the all-class tournament, is among several up-and-coming wrestlers for Cedaredge.Among the 84 names announced at Saturday night's parade of champions was a little-known 106-pounder by the name of Austin Todd.

Todd was 6-2 at the two-day Warrior Classic tournament, which is considered one of the most competitive tournaments of the season.

Five wrestlers place for Bruins in Delta

b09 chswrPhoto by Tamie Meck Cedaredge’s Ty Morton (back) temporarily gains control over Ben Pridy of Olathe.The Cedaredge Bruins placed five of their 10 wrestlers at Saturday's Delta Invitational to earn 67 points. The Bruins were open at 145, 152, 182 and at heavyweight.

Cedaredge boys take 63-56 win over Demons

The Bruins, playing in their season opener, jumped out to a big lead but had to fight off a determined Demon team for a 63-56 win.Cedaredge jumped out to a big lead in the opening quarter, but in the end, the Bruins had to withstand a furious rally from the visiting Ridgway Demons to earn a 63-56 victory in season openers for both teams.

Aaron Henrie and Trent Walker scored five points each in the first quarter to lead the Bruins to a 17-9 advantage after eight minutes of play.
