Bruins fall to strong Basalt diamond crew

The Bruins fell behind early in both games and suffered a pair of losses (8-6 and 14-8) to the Longhorns.A big win at New Castle over the Coal Ridge Titans was overshadowed by the doubleheader loss to Basalt on Saturday.

CHS track teams finish strong in Saturday meets

b05 chstr1Photo by Wayne Crick Cedaredge’s Dante Markley (right) clears the second hurdle behind Eagle Valley’s Riley-Rowles Birdsong in the 110m high hurdles last Saturday. Markley overhauled Birdsong at the next-to-last hurdle and won the event in a time of 16.1.Even though the Paonia Lady Eagles won the team title this past weekend at the Hotchkiss Invitational, Cedaredge's girls' track program continues to roll along without Sierra Williams. The Lady Bruins scored 108.5 points to place second behind Paonia (143.5).

Bruins 2-0 in hardball

Cedaredge outplayed Roaring Fork in two games, 12-2 and 13-11, for a doubleheader sweep Saturday in Cedaredge.Cedaredge High School's baseball team got off to a great start to the 2013 season with a doubleheader win over visiting Roaring Fork on Saturday (March 16).

The Bruins won the first game 12-2 and followed with a 13-11 decision in game two.
