Bruin grapplers finish 8th at Eagle Valley tourney

Austin Todd continues to make a strong showing for the Cedaredge Bruins.

Competing at 106 pounds, the fourth-ranked freshman wrestled to a 3-1 record to place third at Saturday's Eagle Invitational wrestling tournament.

Bruins, Eagles take game into overtime; Bruins win 55-43

Cedaredge won 55-43 in overtime.Reid Gates scored 14 points to lead the Cedaredge Bruins to a 55-43 win in overtime Saturday against Paonia and place third at the First Colorado National Bank Classic Tournament held in Delta on Dec. 21-22.

Ben Linnell scored 10 points and Jason Sturgis nine for the Eagles.

Bruin boys fall 61-47 to Aspen in 3A action

Last week’s encounter with the Aspen Skiers was not as fortunate for the Bruins as Aspen dealt the Bruins a 61-47 loss that leaves Cedaredge with a 1-2 league mark and 2-2 overall.Aspen and Cedaredge squared off against each other on Tuesday, Dec. 18, in Cedaredge. The Bruins (1-2 and 2-2), sitting sixth in the 3A WSL, stayed with a talented Aspen team through most of the first quarter.
