Delta volleyball team falls to Central, beats Lady Sailors

The Delta High School volleyball team split a pair of matches played this past week. A Thursday (Sept. 20) meeting with Central was a back-and-forth contest that eventually went to the Lady Warriors 3-2.

On Saturday, Delta was in Steamboat Springs where they outplayed the Lady Sailors 3-0.

Against Central, the Lady Warriors claimed the first set with a 25-21 decision. Delta tied the match at 1-1 with its 25-20 win in set two.

The match's momentum shifted entirely to Central in set three in a 25-10 win for the home squad. Delta regrouped a bit in set four but eventually lost it by a 25-18 score.

Delta's victory in Steamboat Springs on Saturday was a three-set win. No details were available on that match.

Delta has three matches set for the next week. On Thursday the Lady Panthers are scheduled to host Battle Mountain for matches at 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. A trip to Summit on Saturday is set to begin at 1 p.m. for varsity play with preliminary contests set for 11 a.m. and 12 noon.

On Tuesday, Oct. 2, Delta will host Glenwood Springs for matches at 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
