Delta High School's track teams performed well at last week's Coal Ridge Invitational meet. The Lady Panthers outscored everyone in the 15-team field with 111 points to win the team competition.
Delta's boys had 46.5 points to place sixth in their division.
Skylyn Webb was instrumental in helping the Lady Panthers win a team title at Coal Ridge. She was first in two individual events (100m, 200m) and ran a leg of the record-setting 3200m relay team.
Webb won the 100m with a time of 12.87 and had a 26.08 to win the 200m.
Along with Clarissa Whiting, Mykayla Music and Cleo Whiting, Webb helped Delta break a two-year-old record in the 3200m relay. Delta won the race in a time of 10:00 to break the 2011 time of 10:13.92 which was set by Grand Valley.
The Lady Panthers had a fourth win with Callie Gafford's victory in the high jump. Gafford cleared 5-1 to break the existing record of 5-0 set by Rifle's Carsyn Copeland back in 2011.
Cleo and Clarissa Whiting were second and third, respectively, in both the 800m and 1600m runs for the Panthers. Patti Chapman (long jump) and Bry Music (shot put) also picked up second- place finishes.
Delta's 800m relay team (Natalie Marvin, Rae Loy, Teona Martinez, Alysha Richards) placed fourth with Kaylee Dunham (3200m run) and Amelia Hawkins (high jump) finishing fifth in those events.
Mykayla Music (3200m run), Chapman (triple jump), and Bry Music (discus) all had sixth place finishes.
Adara Sandoval and Haley Millard tied for seventh in the 400m dash and the 400m relay team (Marvin, Loy, Martinez and Aysha Richards) also finished seventh.
There were no first-place finishes for Delta in the boys'w division. Zach Decker had the team's top finish with his 52.63 time in the 400m dash.
Dustin Ownbey continues to run well and his 2:06.45 in the 800m run was good for third place. Ownbey, along with Decker, Robin Milabo, and Jonathan Kinderknecht, finished fourth in the 3200m relay. Kinderknecht picked up another fourth in the 1600m run.
A time of 52.65 was good enough for fourth place in the 400m dash for Douglas Hawkins.
There was one fifth-place finish for the Panthers. Eian Baier accomplished that feat in long jump. Baier was sixth in the high jump.
Milabo, Cordell Stroud, Johnny Ponce and Bodie Giron placed sixth in the 400m relay and Jacob Millard was seventh in the 400m dash.
