Delta's Panthers were busy on the mat this past week. Starting on Thursday (Jan. 23) Delta hosted Moffat County, Paonia and Hotchkiss.
The Panthers dualed Paonia in their first match of the evening and had a break while Hotchkiss and Moffat County faced each other. Delta finished the evening with competition against Moffat County.
Paonia was relentless in its pursuit of a team win and eventually scored a 52-6 win. Many of the matches were close for big portions of each match before the Eagles went on a roll for the big win. See sports writer Tamie Meck's related story on this dual in today's paper.
Delta also participated in the annual Rifle Duals on Saturday (Jan. 25). The Panthers wrestled in five duals and won all by big margins.

Derek Horn (152) recorded the Panthers' third fall in a time of 0:18 over Moffat County's Hugo Hernandez.
