Panthers lose 2 in hardball

Delta got out-hit 19-4 and came up well short in a 16-1 defeat at the hands of the visiting Indians. Delta plays Olathe today (March 27) and faces Battle Mountain in doubleheader action Saturday.Delta's baseball season took a sharp turn last week when the Panthers lost a pair of contests to rivals Palisade and Montrose. The Panthers had won their first three games of the season a week earlier but found a sack full of silent bats against the Bulldogs on Tuesday (March 19) and then again on Thursday against the Indians.

Delta second team at Hotchkiss Invitational

Delta High School split its track squads last weekend so that more athletes could see more action. The varsity teams traveled to Grand Junction to participate in the Mickey Dunn Meet while junior varsity athletes attended the Hotchkiss Invitational.

Delta thinclads beat weather, perform well

She won the heat.On a day when there was not much enthusiasm for being outside, Delta High School's track teams had some solid performances, including a first-place finish in the shot put by junior Bryanna Music.

The Lady Panthers had a first-place finish and two seconds to help them earn 56 points for fourth place in the team standings.
